Abstract: The title compound, C₁₅H₁₉NO₃, a Schiff base, crystallizes as a zwitterion with the hydroxyl H atom transfered to the imine N atom. This leads to the formation of an intramolecular N-HO hydrogen bond. In the crystal structure, symmetry-related molecules are linked by an intermolecular O-HO hydrogen bond, forming chains extended in the a-axis direction. The molecules are also connected via C-HO hydrogen bonds, forming a two-dimensional network.
