Tetraaquabis[1-(carboxylatomethyl)-1,3-benzimidazol-3-ium-3-acetato-O]manganese(II) dihydrate

Abstract: In the title compound, [Mn(C₁₁H₉N₂O₄)₂(H₂O)₄]·2H₂O, the central Mn^II atom lies on a crystallographic inversion center and is coordinated by four water molecules and two monodentate 1-(carboxymethyl)-1,3-benzimidazol-3-ium-3-acetate ligands in a slightly distorted octahedral geometry. The crystal packing is stabilized by intermolecular O-HO hydrogen bonds, which generate a three-dimensional framework.
