Bis(2,2'-bipyridine-²N,N')(hippurato-O)copper(II) perchlorate dihydrate

Abstract: In the title complex, [Cu(C₉H₈NO₃)(C₁₀H₈N₂)₂]ClO₄·2H₂O, the CuN₄O₂ chromophore exhibits a square-pyramidal geometry that is distorted towards octahedral owing to an intramolecular CuO contact from the double-bond carboxylate O atom. The cations, anions and solvent water molecules are linked by hydrogen bonds into a linear chain running along the b axis.
