(Acetylacetonato-²O,O')(dimethylformamide-O)[2-phenoxyethanal (2-oxidobenzylidene)hydrazonato-³O,N,O']cobalt(III)

Abstract: There are two crystallographically independent molecules in the asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Co(C₁₅H₁₂N₂O₃)(C₅H₇O₂)(C₃H₇NO)]. The Co^III atom is coordinated by one phenolate O atom, one carbonyl O atom and one hydrazine N atom from the dianionic hydrazone ligand L^2-, two O atoms from the acetylacetonate anion, and one O atom from the coordinated dimethylformamide molecule, to form an elongated octahedron. The dianionic ligand L^2- is not planar.
