Abstract: In the asymmetric unit of the title ion-pair complex, (C25H20BrFP)2[Ni(C4N2S2)2], there is one 4-bromo-2-fluorobenzyl)triphenylphosphonium cation, (BrFBzTPP)+, and one-half of an [Ni(mnt)2]2- anion (mnt is maleonitriledithiolate), which lies on an inversion site. The NiII ion is coordinated by four S atoms of two mnt2- ligands in a square-planar geometry. The (BrFBzTPP)+ cation adopts a tetrahedral configuration about P. The cations and anions are linked by weak C-H
N and C-H
S interactions.
