2O,O'')plutonate(IV) pentahydrateAbstract: The title compound, Li[Co(NH3)6][Pu(C3H2O4)4]·5H2O, contains isolated [Pu(C3H2O4)4]4- complex anions. Each malonate dianion binds to the Pu atom in a bidentate fashion, resulting in the formation of six-membered metallocycles. The coordination environment of the Pu atom is a distorted square antiprism. The average Pu-O distance is 2.318 (10) Å, about 0.08 Å shorter than in analogous ThIV complexes.
