N}(
-sulfato-
2O,O')diaquacobalt(II)]Abstract: The title compound, [Co(C9H9N3)2(H2O)2(SO4)]n, is a one-dimensional coordination polymer formed by sulfate bridges between the CoII atoms. The CoII and sulfate S atoms lie on an inversion centre and a twofold rotation axis, respectively. The CoII atom is coordinated in a slightly deformed octahedral geometry by two O atoms of the sulfate anions, two water molecules and two imidazole N atoms from the N-(2-pyridylmethyl)imidazole ligands, with the pyridyl groups uncoordinated.
