(3'S,4R)-3-(3'-Cyclopentyl-3'-phenylpropanoyl)-5,5-dimethyl-4-phenyl-1,3-oxazolidin-2-one

Abstract: The title compound, C₂₅H₂₉NO₃, was prepared from (R)-5,5-dimethyl-4-phenyl-3-[(E)-3-phenylacryloyl]oxazolidin-2-one, coupled with cyclopentylmagnesium bromide via asymmetric Michael addition. The relative configuration of the chiral C atoms of the product is as expected.
