Abstract: The title compound, C₁₈H₁₈N₂O, was prepared by the reaction of 3-phenyl-1-(p-tolyl)prop-2-en-1-one with hydrazine hydrate in acetic acid. The pyrazole ring is in an envelope conformation. The crystal packing is stabilized by van der Waals forces.
