Abstract: The title complex [systematic name: 1-(4-bromobenzyl)pyridinium bis(1,2-dicyanoethylene-1,2-dithiolato)cuprate(III)], (C12H11BrN)[Cu(C4N2S2)2], is isostructural with 1-(4-bromobenzyl)pyridinium bis(maleonitriledithiolato)nickelate(III) [Ren, Meng, Song, Hu, Lu & Chen (2002). Inorg. Chem. 41, 5686-5692]. Its prominent structural feature is that both anions and cations form segregated columnar stacks along the c axis, and both anionic and cationic columns are regular.
