Adipatobis(2-phenyl-1H-1,3,7,8-tetraazacyclopenta[l]phenanthrene)manganese(II) dihydrate

Abstract: In the title compound, [Mn(C₆H₈O₄)(C₁₉H₁₂N₄)₂]·2H₂O, the Mn^II atom is six-coordinated by four N atoms from two bidentate phenanthrene ligands, and two carboxylate O atoms from a bidentate adipate ligand to result in a distorted MnO₂N₄ octahedron. Aromatic - stacking interactions between phenanthrene ligands generate a chain supramolecular structure that is extended into a three-dimensional network by N-HO and O-HO hydrogen bonds.
