Di-[mu]-chloro-bis{chloro[hydrotris(pyrazol-1-yl)borato)](tetrahydrofuran)ytterbium(III)} toluene solvate

G. W. Rabe, M. Zhang-Presse, F. A. Riederer and A. L. Rheingold

Abstract: The molecular structure of the tetrahydrofuran adduct of the first dimeric mono[tris(pyrazolyl)borate] (Tp) lanthanide compound of composition [Yb2(C9H10BN6)2Cl4(C4H8O)2]·C7H8 is reported. The dimeric and centrosymmetric mono-Tp complex features a seven-coordinate Yb atom, bonded to three N atoms of the tridentate ligand, to the O atom of the neutral tetrahydrofuran ligand, and to one terminal as well as to two bridging Cl atoms. Additionally, a disordered toluene solvent molecule, located on an inversion center, is cocrystallized.
