Abstract: In the title compound, [Cu(C₅H₁₀NS₂)I(C₁₀H₈N₂)], the Cu^II ion is coordinated by one iodide ion, two N atoms of the bipyridine ligand and two S atoms from the diethyldithiocarbamate ligand in a distorted square pyramidal geometry.
