Abstract: In the title compound, [Co(CH3OH)4(H2O)2]SO4, the CoII atom and S atom lie on special positions on a twofold rotation axis. The CoII ion is six-coordinated by four O atoms of methanol molecules and two water molecules in a distorted octahedral geometry. The cations and anions are linked by hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional supramolecular network.
