2-Ethylisoindoline-1,3-dione

Abstract: The title compound, C₁₀H₉NO₂, was synthesized by mixing phthalic anhydride, ethanamine and triethylamine in toluene. The phthalimide unit is essentially planar. The crystal structure is stabilized by weak C-HO hydrogen bonds.
