3-Oxo-hexa-
2-pivalato-(pivalic acid-
O)bis(pyridine-
N)trimanganese(III,III,II)Abstract: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Mn3(C5H9O2)6O(C5H5N)2(C5H10O2)], comprises two independent and similar [MnIII2MnIIO{(CH3)3CCO2}6(py)2(CH3)3CCOOH] (py = pyridine) molecules each with an Mn3(
3-O) core. In each molecule, the Mn atoms have octahedral geometry with two coordinated pyridines bonded to two MnIII and a terminal pivalic acid coordinated to the MnII atom.
