cis-Dichlorobis[2-(2-pyridyl)-1H-imidazole-[kappa]N3]zinc(II) hemihydrate

D.-X. Zhu, Y.-Q. Lan, Y.-M. Fu and Z.-M. Su

Abstract: In the title mononuclear zinc complex, [ZnCl2(C8H7N3)2]·0.5H2O, the Zn atom is located on a twofold axis and has a slightly distorted octahedral geometry consisting of four N atoms from two 2-(2-pyridyl)imidazole ligands and two Cl- anions. The complex molecules are connected through intermolecular hydrogen bonds, forming a two-dimensional layer structure.
