(E)-N'-[4-(4-Chlorobenzyloxy)-3-methoxybenzylidene]thiophene-2-carbohydrazide

Abstract: In the title compound, C₂₀H₁₇ClN₂O₃S, the vanillin group makes dihedral angles of 73.65 (11) and 2.16 (16)° with the chloro-substituted benzene ring and the thiophene mean plane, respectively. The crystal packing is stabilized by an intermolecular N-HO hydrogen bond that forms a centrosymmetric dimer.
