Bis[N,N'-bis(3,3-diphenylprop-2-enylidene)ethane-1,2-diamine-²N,N']copper(I) triiodide

Abstract: The title complex, [Cu(C₃₂H₂₈N₂)₂]I₃, contains cations having Cu^I coordinated by four N atoms of two N,N'-bis(3,3-diphenylprop-2-enylidene)ethane-1,2-diamine (Phca₂en) ligands in a distorted tetrahedral fashion and isolated linear I₃^- anions. The Phca₂en ligand adopts a Z,Z conformation and acts as a bidentate ligand coordinating via two N atoms to the Cu atom. The Cu and central I atoms are located on twofold axes.
