cis-Aquachlorobis(1,10-phenanthroline-²N,N')manganese(II) 4-formylbenzoate trihydrate

Abstract: The title compound, [MnCl(C₁₂H₈N₂)₂(H₂O)](C₈H₅O₃)·3H₂O, consists of cis-[Mn(phen)₂(H₂O)Cl]⁺ cations (phen = 1,10-phenanthroline), 4-formylbenzoate anions and solvent water molecules. The Mn^II atom is coordinated by four N atoms of two phen ligands, one Cl atom and one aqua ligand, forming a distorted octahedral geometry. A three-dimensional network is formed by O-HO/Cl hydrogen bonds and - stacking interactions.
