Abstract: The title compound, [Bi(C₅H₉OS₂)₂(C₁₂H₈N₂)], is monomeric, with the Bi atom chelated by the S atoms of three anionic O-isobutyl dithiocarbonate ligands and the N atoms of 1,10-phenanthroline. The central Bi atom is eight-coordinate in a capped distorted pentagonal bipyramidal geometry.
