5-pentamethylcyclopentadienyl)iridium(III)Abstract: The crystal structure of the title complex, [Ir(C10H15)(C4N2S2)], is composed of distinct [
5-Cp*Ir(mnt)] (Cp* is pentamethylcyclopentadienyl and mnt is 1,2-dicyanoethylenedithiolate) molecules separated by normal van der Waals contacts. The asymmetric unit consists of two molecules. The IrIII atom may be considered pentacoordinate since it is linked to a bidentate dithiolate ligand and a formally tridentate
5-Cp* ligand. Ir-S distances range from 2.238 (3) to 2.246 (3) Å.
