Formaldehyde 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazone

Abstract: In the title compound, C₇H₆N₄O₄, the molecule is essentially planar and the nitro groups are nearly coplanar with the benzene ring. The crystal structure is stabilized by intermolecular C-HO, N-HO and C-HN interactions, as well as by short OO and ON contacts.
