2,2'-Bipyridinium fluorotrioxochromate(VI)

Abstract: A facile synthesis of 2,2'-bipyridinium fluorochromate(VI), (C₁₀H₉N₂)[CrO₃F], was developed by reacting CrO₃ with HF in the presence of 2,2'-bipyridine. The structure of the title compound consists of discrete cations and anions. The coordination around Cr is distorted tetrahedral.
