N-(Methylacryloyl)glycine

Abstract: The title compound, C₆H₉NO₃, was prepared by the nucleophilic substitution reaction of methylacryloyl chloride with glycine. Intermolecular N-HO and O-HO hydrogen bonds link the molecules into a three-dimensional network, which may be effective in stabilizing the crystal structure.
