[-2-Methyl-5-(methylsulfanylmethyl)azaferrocene]bis(pentacarbonyltungsten)

Abstract: The title compound, [W₂Fe(C₅H₅)(C₇H₁₀NS)(CO)₁₀], was prepared by reaction of 5-methylsulfanylmethyl-2-methyl azaferrocene with photochemically generated [W(CO)₅]·THF. The X-ray structural analysis showed the azaferrocenyl unit to have adopted a nearly eclipsed geometry. The geometries at the two tungsten centers are distorted octahedral.
