3,3'-Diphenylbi-1H-indene-1,1'-dione

Abstract: The title compound, C₃₀H₁₈O₂, was synthesized by the reaction of phenylmagnesium bromide with 2,2'-biindanylidene-1,1',3,3'-tetraone under a nitrogen atmosphere. The dihedral angle between the two indenone ring systems is 50.66 (3)°.
