3N,N',O]nickel(II) perchlorate monohydrateAbstract: In the title compound, [Ni(C8H9N2O3S)(H2O)3)]ClO4·H2O, the NiII atom is coordinated by the two N atoms [Ni-N = 2.054 (3) and 2.077 (3) Å] and one O atom [Ni-O = 2.070 (2) Å] from a tridentate 2-(2-pyridylmethylene)aminoethanesulfonate [or N-(2-pyridylmethylidene)taurine] ligand and three water molecules [Ni-O = 2.025 (3)-2.081 (3) Å] in a distorted octahedral geometry. An extensive three-dimensional network of O-H
O hydrogen bonds, involving perchlorate anions, and coordinating and non-coordinating water molecules, stabilizes the crystal packing.
