Tricarbonyl[tris(pyrazol-1-yl)methanesulfonato-³N,N',N'']rhenium(I) acetone solvate

Abstract: The title compound, [Re(C₁₀H₉N₆O₃S)(CO)₃]·C₃H₆O, was prepared in almost quantitative yield by reaction of Re(CO)₅Br with the thallium salt of the tris(pyrazolyl)methanesulfonate (tpms) ligand. It shows a slightly distorted octahedral geometry for the fac-Re(CO)₃N₃ unit, with the ligand forming three six-membered N-bonded chelate rings. A C-HO interaction between the main molecule and the solvent molecule helps to establish the crystal packing.
