2N1,O)copper(II)]-
-sulfato-
2O:O'] monohydrate]Abstract: The title crystal structure, {[Cu(SO4)(C6H6N2O)(H2O)2]·H2O}6, is a monoclinic polymorph of the previously reported triclinic structure [Sieron & Bukowska-Strzyzewska (1999). Acta Cryst. C55, 491-494] in which sulfate ligands bridge six-coordinate Cu atoms, generating an extended one-dimensional chain structure along [010]. Neighboring chains are connected by N-H
O(sulfate) hydrogen bonds into ladders, which are further connected into two-dimensional layers perpendicular to the [100] direction by N-H
O(water) and O(water)-H
O hydrogen bonds. These layers are connected by O-H
O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional network.
