Hexaaquacobalt(II) bis[2-(4-carboxyphenoxy)propionate] trihydrate

Abstract: The title complex, [Co(H₂O)₆](C₁₀H₉O₅)₂·3H₂O, consists of [Co(H₂O)₆]²⁺ cations and 2-(4-carboxylatophenoxy)propionate anions along with uncoordinated water molecules. The Co atoms, which each lie on a center of symmetry, have octahedral coordination. The cations and anions are linked by O-HO hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional supramolecular framework.
