[1,1'-Bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene-²P,P']bis(2,3,4,5,6-pentafluorobenzenethiolato)platinum(II)

Abstract: The title compound, [PtFe(C₆F₆S)₂(C₁₇H₁₄P)₂], was obtained from the metathesis reaction of [Pt(dppf)Cl₂] and [Pb(SC₆F₅)₂] in CH₂Cl₂ [dppf is 1,1'-bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene]. Two independent molecules are found in the asymmetric unit. The Pt^II centers have a distorted square-planar environment with the P atoms of the dppf ligand coordinating to the metal centers in a bidentate fashion. The coordination of each Pt atom is completed by two -SC₆F₅ ligands in an anti conformation. The crystal packing exhibits interesting C-H stacking.
