Tris(N,N-dimethylethane-1,2-diammonium) decavanadate(V) pentahydrate

Abstract: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C₄H₁₄N₂)₃[V₁₀O₂₈]·5H₂O, is composed of half of a centrosymmetric [V₁₀O₂₈]^6- polyanion, one and a half doubly protonated N,N-dimethylethane-1,2-diammonium cations (H₂dmen²⁺) and two and a half solvent water molecules. Disorder is observed in one of the H₂dmen²⁺ cations and also in the water solvent molecules. Hydrogen bonds assemble the compound to form a three-dimensional supramolecular structure.
