Abstract: Diffusion of diethyl ether into a reaction mixture of zinc salts, crown ether and calcium chloride in tetrahydrofuran (THF) led to the title compound, [Ca(C₁₂H₂₄O₆)(H₂O)₃][ZnCl₄]. The cation is linked to the anion via O-HCl hydrogen bonding.
