Abstract: In the title compound, [Co(C10H7NO2)2(H2O)2], the CoII ion lies on an inversion centre. It has a distorted octahedral geometry and is coordinated by two N,O-bidentate 5-phenyl-1H-pyrazole-3-carboxylate ligands and two water molecules. Intermolecular O-H
O and N-H
O hydrogen bonds link molecules into layers parallel to the (010) plane.
