1-(4-Aminophenyl)-2-(4-nitrophenyl)ethanone

Abstract: In the title compound, C₁₄H₁₂N₂O₃, the dihedral angle between the two aromatic rings is 86.13 (15)°. Intermolecular N-HO hydrogen bonds [NO = 2.886 (3) Å and N-HO = 174 (3)°] between the NH₂ and C=O groups link the molecules into a one-dimensional ribbon augmented by secondary N-HO interactions [NO = 3.105 (4) Å and N-HO = 154 (3)°] involving NH₂ and NO₂ groups. Adjacent chains are linked via - interactions.
