Abstract: In the title compound, [Cd(C₈H₄O₄)(C₃H₄N₂)₂(H₂O)]_n, the Cd center is six-coordinated by three O atoms from two benzene-1,3-dicarboxylate dianions, two N atoms from two imidazole ligands and one water molecule in a distorted octahedral geometry. The benzene-1,3-dicarboxylate dianion acts as a bridge, resulting in a one-dimensional chain-like structure.
