Abstract: The title compound, C11H10N2O, a potential antitumour drug, crystallizes with two molecules in the asymmetric unit. The 4-amino N atom is strongly conjugated with the quinoline ring involving the 3-carbonyl group. As a result, the molecule is almost planar. The amino group is involved in both intramolecular N-H
O and intermolecular N-H
N hydrogen bonds.
