4'-(4-Methoxyphenyl)-2,2':6',2''-terpyridine

Abstract: In the title molecule, C₂₂H₁₇N₃O, the three pyridyl rings are almost coplanar. The molecule exhibits a trans-trans arrangement of the pyridine rings about the interannular C-C bonds. The methoxyphenyl substituent makes a dihedral angle of 6.17 (7)° with the central pyridine ring.
