catena-Poly[[(2,2'-bipyridine-²N,N')manganese(II)]--3,5-dinitro-2-oxidobenzoato-⁴O,O':O',O²]

Abstract: In the title complex, [Mn(C₇H₂N₂O₇)(C₁₀H₈N₂)]_n, the Mn^II atom has a distorted octahedral coordination geometry, defined by two N atoms from the 2,2'-bipyridine ligand and four O atoms from two 3,5-dinitrosalicylate dianions. One carboxylate O atom acts as a bridge between adjacent metal centres to form a one-dimensional chain. The MnMn distance is 4.315 (6) Å. The crystal packing is stabilized by intermolecular C-HO hydrogen interactions.
