Abstract: In the title compound, [ZnCl2(C12H17N3O3)], a mononuclear Schiff base zinc(II) complex, the Zn atom is tetrahedrally coordinated by one imine N atom and one phenolate O-atom of the Schiff base ligand and by two terminal chloride anions. In the crystal structure, symmetry-related molecules are linked through intermolecular N-H
Cl, N-H
O and C-H
Cl hydrogen bonds, forming chains running parallel to the b axis.
