Abstract: In the title compound, [ZnCl₂(C₁₂H₁₇N₃O₃)], a mononuclear Schiff base zinc(II) complex, the Zn atom is tetrahedrally coordinated by one imine N atom and one phenolate O-atom of the Schiff base ligand and by two terminal chloride anions. In the crystal structure, symmetry-related molecules are linked through intermolecular N-HCl, N-HO and C-HCl hydrogen bonds, forming chains running parallel to the b axis.
