Abstract: In the title compound, hexaaquanickel(II) dinitrate-bis(pyrimidin-2-ylsulfanyl)methane (1/2), [Ni(H2O)6](NO3)2·2C9H8N4S2, the NiII ion, located on an inversion center, has a distorted octahedral coordination geometry. The NiII complex cation, nitrate anions and the bis(pyrimidin-2-ylsulfanyl)methane molecules are linked together by hydrogen-bonding interactions.
