Abstract: In the title compound, [Cu₂(N₃)₄(C₄H₁₂N₂)₂]_n, an azide-bridged polynuclear copper(II) complex, each Cu atom is coordinated by two N atoms of N,N-dimethylethane-1,2-diamine and four N atoms from four azide bridges in an octahedral geometry. The [Cu(C₄H₁₂N₂)] units are linked by bridging azide ligands, forming chains running along the b axis. The azide ligands form two types of bridges, _1,1 and _1,3, which give alternating four- and eight-membered rings in the polymeric chain, both of which are centrosymmetric.
