trans-Diaquabis(quinoline-2-carboxylato)nickel(II) dimethylformamide disolvate

X. Zhang, Q.-F. Yang, Z.-H. Yi and J.-Q. Xu

Abstract: In the title monomeric complex, [Ni(C20H12N2O4)2(H2O)2]·2C3H7NO, the cation lies on a centre of symmetry in a distorted octahedral environment. The organic ligand acts in an O,N-chelating mode, defining the equatorial plane, while two aqua molecules occupy the axial sites. The molecules bind to each other and to the uncoordinated solvent molecules in layers parallel to (100) through a complex hydrogen-bonding scheme.
