Bis[tris(1,10-phenanthroline-²N,N')manganese(II)] dodecatungstogermanate dihydrate

Abstract: The title compound, [Mn(C₁₂H₈N₂)₃]₂[GeW₁₂O₄₀]·2H₂O, which was prepared under hydrothermal conditions, consists of one Keggin [GeW₁₂O₄₀]^4- anion disordered over an inversion centre, two isolated [Mn(phen)₃]²⁺ cations (phen is 1,10-phenanthroline) and two solvent water molecules. In each [Mn(phen)₃]²⁺ cation, the Mn^II ion is coordinated by six N atoms from three phen ligands, completing a distorted octahedral geometry.
