Abstract: The self-assembly of Cu(NO3)2·3H2O and H2L [where H2L is bis(salicylidene)propane-1,3-diamine] generates the title compound, [Cu3L2(NO3)2] or [Cu3(C17H16N2O2)2(NO3)2]. The central CuII ion is located on an inversion centre and is bridged to terminal CuII ions by O atoms belonging to L ligands and NO3- anions, resulting in a trinuclear CuII molecular complex.
