catena-Poly[[diaqua(isonicotinato-²O,O')thulium(III)]--di--isonicotinato-⁴O:O']

Abstract: A new thulium coordination polymer, [Tm(C₆H₄NO₂)₃(H₂O)₂]_n, has been hydrothermally synthesized. The Tm^III cation and one isonicotinate anion lie on a crystallographic twofold axis. The Tm^III cation is bonded to four carboxylate O atoms of bridging isonicotinate groups, two carboxylate O atoms of the chelating isonicotinate group and two water molecules, to yield an eight-coordinate square-antiprismatic geometry.
