A new non-metal borophosphate with a supramolecular network

Abstract: Colourless crystals of the title compound, catena-poly[hemi(piperazine-1,4-diium) [boron-di--hydrogenphosphato-⁴O:O']], [C₄H₁₂N₂²⁺·B₂(HPO₄)₄]_n or [C₄H₁₂N₂²⁺·H₈B₄O₃₂P₈]_n, were prepared under solvothermal conditions. The structure contains infinite borophosphate double chains, which are interconnected by piperazinium cations via a complex hydrogen-bond network to form a three-dimensional supramolecular network.
