Abstract: The title compound, C20H32O2, a diterpenoid, was isolated from the roots of Bruguiera cylindrica (Rhizophoraceae). There are two crystallographically independent molecules in the asymmetric unit. In both molecules, the cyclohexane rings adopt chair conformations and the cyclopentane ring has an envelope conformation. In the crystal structure, molecules are linked into a two-dimensional network by intermolecular O-H
O hydrogen bonds.
