Bis{2-bromo-4-chloro-6-[2-(ethylammonio)ethyliminomethyl]phenolato}dithiocyanatonickel(II)

C.-Y. Wang

Abstract: The title compound, [Ni(NCS)2(C11H14BrClN2O)2], is a mononuclear NiII complex, in which the Ni atom lies on an inversion centre. It is chelated by the phenolate O and imine N atoms from two Schiff base ligands, and is also coordinated by the N atoms from two thiocyanate ligands, giving a slightly distorted octahedral geometry. In the crystal structure, molecules are linked through intra- and intermolecular hydrogen bonds of types N-H...O, N-H...Br, N-H...N, N-H...S and C-H...S, forming layers parallel to the ac plane.
